

Update Mac App Store apps by clicking on the Apple logo in the top left corner, clicking Updates and clicking Update All. The Sonos app is great for controlling the multi-room speaker system of the same name, but apparently, its decidedly not so great when it comes time to update macOS High Sierra. A developer beta is available now, public beta in July, with the general release in the fall.

As noted above, some app developers may warn you that their apps do not support Big Sur yet, so you might not want to update. As it turns out, the Sonos app for Mac might be the culprit. macOS Big Sur was announced on June 22nd at Apples WWDC Developer Conference. Go through your third-party apps, and make sure they're all up to date - visit their websites and look for any notes about Big Sur compatibility. The best thing to do when updating to a new OS is to make sure your third-party apps are also updated to support it.
